Byzantine Museum
In1840 Athens urban designer Kleanthis in the outskirts of Athens built a palace for the Duchess of Plaisance, this is the Byzantine Museum.
As the name suggests, the the Byzantine museum has exhibits of Byzantine culture, art, daily. The Byzantine period is the second important period of Greek history. Today Greek customs, religion, ideology, national feelings etc., has obvious traces of the Byzantine period.
Into the courtyard, you can see the Cathedral of the early Christian and Byzantine church building debris.
